We develop the visual language: cover treatment, paper selection, binding method, and layout grid. You review and refine before anything goes to press.
Digital and physical proofs. Color calibration to match your original work. Two rounds of revisions included — more if needed, at reasonable rates.
Short-run digital or offset printing with Smyth-sewn binding. Fulfillment to your door, to galleries, or direct to collectors. Inventory management available.

Folio is a small-batch art-book publisher based in Asheville, North Carolina. We design and produce layflat, Smyth-sewn books on archival papers — monographs, photography books, exhibition catalogs, zines, and limited editions — in print runs of roughly 25 to 500 copies, working directly with the artist at every stage.
Independent artists making books of their own work: photographers, illustrators, designers, zine makers, and curators. Most of our projects sit between 25 and 500 copies — too small for offset, too important for print-on-demand.

Pricing is usage-based: paper, binding, print run size, and design hours against a project quote. There are no upfront platform fees — you start a project at /tracker, we give you a transparent estimate, and production begins on a deposit. Final invoice is on delivery.
We store your email and project metadata so we can reach out about capacity and quote your work — nothing else. We do not run third-party ad tracking. The only scripts loaded on this site are Plausible for anonymous aggregate analytics and the Polsia platform beacon, both already visible in the page source.
